Professional solder fume extraction for a safe working environment

Whether it's smoke or fine dust, soldering can release numerous toxic and harmful substances. That's why creating safe working environments is particularly important. A professional solder fume extraction system helps remove dangerous particles from the air and filter them effectively. This way, you can protect your health and focus fully on your work. Our wide range offers various solder fume extraction options from our ZeroSmog series, and you can choose between a variety of different retailers who stock our products!

Safe and powerful extraction

To fully concentrate on your soldering work, a safe working environment is an absolute must. However, appropriate workwear alone isn't enough to protect your health, as airborne particles can also pose a significant hazard. With our ZeroSmog Guard units, you can breathe easy: our range features powerful models that effectively filter and purify the air at your workspace. Thanks to replaceable H13 HEPA filters and activated carbon, fine dust, gases, and other harmful substances are removed reliably. The filter status and extraction performance can be easily monitored, so you can check the air quality and device efficiency at any time.

Since the various models are ESD-safe, electrostatic discharge is also prevented, meaning you can enjoy effective solder fume extraction even when working with sensitive components.

The capacity of each unit depends on the specific model: whilst our particularly compact and flexible Zero Smog Shield Pro can purify up to 32 cubic metres per hour, our powerful ZeroSmog Guard 2 230V offers a maximum capacity of up to 200 cubic metres per hour. If you're looking for a suitable unit for up to four workstations, our Zero Smog 4V with a capacity of up to 230 cubic metres per hour is the ideal choice. Our ZeroSmog Guard series provides sufficient suction pressure for soldering, ensuring high airflow and therefore effective capture of all fume gases. At the same time, odours are eliminated alongside harmful substances, so you can focus entirely on your soldering task.

Compact design and easy operation

Our solder fume extraction units offer maximum performance as well as a practical and compact design that integrates easily into your workspace. With models like our compact ZeroSmog Guard Light 230V or the ZeroSmog Guard 230V you can enjoy full performance without sacrificing space at your workstation, as the units can be easily placed under the workbench and connected to our Weller Easy-Click 60 hose system. At the same time, the filter units are particularly quiet, maintaining a pleasant working atmosphere without disruptive noise at less than 50 or 55 dBA respectively. The filter unit is also designed to be user-friendly: the filters can be changed quickly and easily, and the device can be connected to the appropriate hose system and switched on and off in no time.

Frequently Asked Questions
  1. How does extraction work when soldering?

Extraction systems for soldering work via a blower which, through appropriate suction pressure, ensures that smoke, fumes, dirt, and fine dust particles are drawn in. A special filter system then purifies the air of harmful substances. This way, you can significantly improve air quality at the workplace and protect your health.

  2. Why is extraction necessary when soldering?

A professional solder fume extraction system is an important factor for a safe and clean workplace. It ensures that smoke, vapour, and tiny particles that could pose a health risk are effectively removed and filtered. This way, you avoid any health risks and can concentrate fully on your soldering work.

  3. Is solder smoke dangerous?

Yes, solder smoke can pose a health hazard if inhaled. This is because soldering releases various substances such as lead or formaldehyde, and tiny particles can be released into the air. For this reason, it's important to remove and filter smoke and dirt during soldering using a high-quality and effective solder fume extraction system.

  4. How often does the filter in an extraction system need to be changed?

How often the filter needs to be changed depends on the specific unit and its usage. Whilst in some cases it's sufficient to change the filter once a year, in other cases, particularly with a HEPA filter, a change may be necessary after just a few months. What matters most is the condition of the filter, which can be checked via the filter status indicator on your unit. Some of our extraction units, such as the Zero Smog 4V, also offer electronic filter monitoring with visual and audible alarm functions. If the filter condition is poor, it should be replaced immediately to ensure reliable protection against harmful substances.
